Stainless Steel Bird Cages

Stainless Steel Bird Cages

Stainless steel bird cages are the best of the best in which to house your beloved pets. Although many cages look fine, none will last nearly as long as stainless steel bird cages, those that are actually manufactured using 304-grade stainless steel.stainless steel bird cages image

Painted, or powder coated cages are attractive, initially, but as soon as the paint starts to chip, the rust begins. It just makes good sense to buy the best from the start. Of course stainless steel bird cages are more expensive than a powder coated cage, but you get what you pay for.

Just as some people will try to spend less money when buying a parrot by purchasing a wild caught adult bird, the money saved will not be worth it. Spending the money needed to obtain a domestic bred bird will ensure you get the best, most loveable, and affectionate pet available. Why get the best pet and then try to save money by buying a cheaper cage ?

I can promise you that it's not worth trying to save a few dollars on a lesser quality cage when you can spend a little more and get one of the more attractive stainless steel bird cages that will last so much longer. It just makes good sense, and will actually save you money in the long run. I learned the lesson the hard way by going through many powder coated cages in my nearly 30 years of owning parrots, when I could have purchased the much better stainless steel bird cages initially, and I would have had more attractive and longer lasting cages from the start. I will never own another powder coated cage for any large parrot again.

Some of the features of the stainless steel bird cages are:

  • Stainless Steel Bird Cages Just Look Better - a large cage will be a focal point of any room, there's no way around it, why not have one that looks as good as possible ?
  • Stainless Steel Bird Cages Deteriorate Much Slower - Nothing last forever, but stainless steel will last much, much longer
  • Generally Speaking - Stainless Steel Bird Cages Last Longer - about 5 times longer than a powder coated cage. Once a powder coated cage starts to chip, it's the beginning of the end
  • Stainless Steel Bird Cages are Much Easier to Clean - eventually the powder coating wears off of the cheaper cages - the stainless steel doesn't - they can be pressure washed and cleaned with strong (non-toxic) cleaners
  • Stainless Steel Bird Cages are Completely Safe - although considered safe for birds, powder coated bird cages do expose your pet to a very small amount of toxic compounds, stainless steel does not

Just be sure that you know what you are buying also. Some smaller companies claim to manufacture their stainless steel bird cages using 304-grade stainless, but not everyone does. Make sure that you buy from one of the larger, reputable companies that use only quality, 304-grade stainless to ensure that you're getting the best money can buy. Cheaper imposter cages probably won't last any longer than a powder coated cage, but of course you will be paying more.

Also, some of the cheaper stainless steel bird cages are not manufactured with the thought of the birds in mind, but just profit. Some of these poorly manufactured cages are released for sale with an extremely shiny finish. This finish is not conducive to a good environment for your pet. The birds are often "jumpy" or rather nervous because of the mirror-like finish. Quality stainless steel bird cages are first, manufactured using only 304-grade stainless, but are also polished so they have a good luster, maintaining the beauty of the stainless, but not so much that there appears to be mirrors everywhere, thereby keeping your bird nervous and on edge.stainless bird cages macaw mansion image

If you're a new bird owner, or maybe just about to purchase your first parrot, I can tell you this - parrots are exceptional pets that will live for many decades, possibly even longer than you!! The bond that you will develop with these amazing animals will almost be like having another child. You will want the best for them, and they will deserve the best. Always spend what is necessary to ensure they have the best diet, medical care, toys, housing and everything else that they require.

Larger birds can be somewhat expense in purchasing the bird, a quality cage, toys, a quality diet (Roudybush is excellent), and all of the other things that will come up. A smaller bird can be much less expensive if you don't want to spend the money to purchase and maintain an African grey, Amazon, Macaw, Cockatoo or one of the other beautiful large parrots.

I can't emphasize it strongly enough, this isn't the place to try and save a few dollars. If you get one of the beautiful, long-lasting stainless steel bird cages initially, you will never regret it.
